The Australian Government has announced a buy-back scheme for kava impounded by Customs at Australia’s borders. The buy-back scheme, to be administered by the Office of Chemical Safety, follows the Government’s tightening of import restrictions on kava to combat abuse and significant associated health problems in some Indigenous communities.
