The Australian Government is making a significant investment in initiatives to improve the ear and hearing health of Indigenous children and youth. In February 2017, the Department of Health engaged Siggins Miller Consultants to undertake an examination of these initiatives. The scope of the examination was to:

  • Assess the extent to which objectives of the individual activities have been achieved;
  • Review equity of access to services;
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation, linkages and coordination of Australian Government initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and improve the patient journey; and
  • Consider opportunities for additional Australian Government activity.
