Developing a framework to guide the secondary use of My Health Record system data - 2017 submissions

On 11 May 2018 the Minister for Health released the Framework to guide the secondary use of My Health Record system data.

In 2016 the Department of Health engaged HealthConsult Pty. Ltd. to develop the Framework, which was informed by public consultations.

Consultations were undertaken between 5 October and 17 November 2017. During this time:

  • 256 people attended 13 workshops,
  • 159 people attended two webinars (one was hosted by HealthConsult and one was hosted by the Consumers’ Health Forum of Australia),
  • 274 people completed an online survey,
  • 25 people were interviewed via telephone or in face-to-face meetings, and
  • 80 organisations/individuals provided written submissions.

Of those who made written submissions, 63 respondents also gave permission for their submissions to be published. These are contained below.
