Pregnancy, Birth and Baby

Pregnancy, Birth and Baby is a telephone helpline and online service that provides access to information and support for women, their partners and families on pregnancy and the first 12 months of a baby’s life. Where appropriate, the helpline directs callers to maternity-related services including specialist and support services. The helpline offers counselling on general antenatal and postnatal issues, non-directive counselling on pregnancy options and will put you in touch with local specialist and support services if further assistance is required.

Pregnancy support counselling MBS items

The Pregnancy support counselling MBS items provide Medicare benefits for the provision of non-directive pregnancy support counselling by eligible GPs, and psychologists, social workers and mental health nurses on referral from a GP.
